Let\u2019s dive into this paradise of flavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kakheti<\/strong> Cuisine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/kakheti\/_kakheti.html?lang=en\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/kakheti\/_kakheti.html?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kakheti <\/a>is undeniably the Bread &amp; Wine Capital of Georgia. It\u2019s impossible to miss all the wine fields while traveling here. The most permanent appetizer on any Georgian table \u2013 the Shoti bread originated from here. Main course dishes include \u201cMtsvadi\u201d- various types of meat on metal or wooden sticks, made on a variation of campfire and is the favorite food for hikers and campers! \u201cChakapuli\u201d \u2013 one of the most respected Georgian dishes, it\u2019s considered as a dish that put Georgia on a culinary map. Lamb meat with white wine and cherry plum sauce \u2013 \u201ctkhemali\u201d all the flavors open up with tarragon leaves, mixed fresh herbs, and garlic. Honorable mention is \u201cChikhirtma\u201d \u2013 creamy chicken soup with a pleasant blend of broth, vinegar, eggs, spices, and herbs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The traditional Georgian sweets also come from this wonderland. The most popular are: \u201cChurchkhela\u201d \u2013 often called the Georgian version of sneakers bar and \u201cFelamushi\u201d sweat treat made of grape juice. Kakheti will surely amaze you with rich and inviting cuisine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kartli<\/strong> Cuisine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First things first, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/kartli\/_kartli.html?lang=en\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/kartli\/_kartli.html?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kartli <\/a><\/strong>is a center of Georgia. Most famous for its traditional soups \u2013 \u201cShechamandi\u201d and the most famous \u201cKharcho\u201d &#8211; soup with rice, beef, Georgian herbs, and spices that give it a truly special taste. Kartli has its variations of famous khachapuri: \u201cChakhrakina\u201d \u2013 with cheese and beetroot leaves and \u201cKhabizgina\u201d \u2013 stuffed with cheese and potatoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mtianeti, Khevi, Khevsureti, Pshavi, and Tusheti<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Breathtaking with its views and atmosphere, we should be thankful to this <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/caucasus-mountains\/embrace-the-georgian-winter-gudauri-and-stepantsminda.html?lang=en\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/caucasus-mountains\/embrace-the-georgian-winter-gudauri-and-stepantsminda.html?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mountainous, lush paradise<\/a><\/strong> for giving us the personal favorite dish of most Georgians (myself included) \u2013 \u201cKhinkali\u201d. Appetizing and wonderful \u201ckaurma\u201d. Special thin khachapuri with cottage cheese \u2013 \u201cKotori\u201d. Glorious and unforgettable melted cheese \u2013 \u201cKhavitsi\u201d. The only right way to enjoy all this magnificence is by grabbing a mug of beer or a glass of local vodka \u2013 \u201cZhipitauri\u201d and embracing the beautiful view of huge mountains and icy peaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Imereti and Guria<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/kutaisi\/_kutaisi.html?lang=en\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/kutaisi\/_kutaisi.html?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Imereti <\/a><\/strong>and its neighboring Guria are the heart of Georgia. They hold massive cultural and historical significance and their culinary traditions reflect that. Their cuisine is hugely influenced by each other so I\u2019m going to mention them together in this paragraph. Imeretian Khachapuri is in the top three most favorite khachapuris of Georgians. Different and intriguing \u201cKuchmachi\u201d \u2013 chicken liver\/heart in walnut sauce and pomegranate. Imeretians and Gurians love using walnuts in their dishes! Amazing Eggplants with Walnuts and unreal tasty \u201cSatsivi\u201d \u2013 Chicken in Walnut Sauce is a dish that you simply have to try!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Samegrelo<\/strong> Cuisine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Megrelians are extremely proud of their cuisine and will tell you without hesitation, that their dishes are the best! Well, you can\u2019t blame them. Megrelians have one of the best cheese cultures all around the world! Cheese \u2013 \u201cSulguni\u201d is so tasty and Megrelians love putting it in their dishes. The main ones are \u201cGhomi\u201d, \u201cElarji\u201d and \u201cGebzhalia\u201d \u2013 you have to give them a try while passing through this magnificent region. It\u2019s impossible not to mention the Megrelian Khachapuri, which of course is also stuffed with Sulguni cheese inside and on top. In Samegrelo, they love meat, especially chicken. Don\u2019t forget to try \u201cChicken Tabaka\u201d a whole chicken cooked with special Ajika sauce and sometimes pomegranate. Grab some Ajika for you separately, because this magical ingredient, if used right, will turn any red meat product into an absolute masterpiece!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Adjara<\/strong> Cuisine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/batumi\/_batumi.html?lang=en\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/batumi\/_batumi.html?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> beautiful tourist paradise<\/a><\/strong> has a lot to offer! One of my personal favorites and the glory of Georgia originated from here \u2013 \u201cAdjarian Khachapuri\u201d. Shaped like a boat with cheese and butter melting in the hot cheese, this dish is amazing! Give a try to \u201cBorano\u201d \u2013 Cheese fried on a pan filled with gee. Start your day off like a native Adjarian with \u201cChirbuli\u201d \u2013 Omelette with tomatoes and walnuts. Adjara also has the most diverse assortment of desserts! Taste Traditional \u201cSinori\u201d \u2013 a mix of Georgian nadughi and dough. This dish can be made in so many variations that you can make anything starting from desert to the main dish! Try true Georgian biscuit \u2013 \u201cShaqarlama\u201d and the natives\u2019 favorite \u201cPakhlava\u201d \u2013 heavily inspired by Turkish Baklava. Taste this and so much more in this sub-tropical Gem of Georgia!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Svaneti<\/strong> Cuisine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/svaneti\/_svaneti.html?lang=en\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/svaneti\/_svaneti.html?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Svaneti<\/a><\/strong> is culturally the most distinct part of Georgia and with its culinary gems, it\u2019s a place that you have to experience! Svans were the first to come up with a genius idea regarding national Khachapuri. While everybody is putting different types of cheese and herbs, Svans put meat in their khachapuri! It\u2019s called \u201cKubdari\u201d and it&#8217;s magnificent! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Svans also came up with the idea of putting cheese inside every Western Georgian favorite \u201cMchadi\u201d bread. The result is appetizing \u201cChvishtari\u201d \u2013 Cornbread with melted cheese inside it. Other than improving the surrounding peoples\u2019 dishes they, of course, came up with their stuff also! \u201cLutspeq\u201d \u2013 as intriguing as its name itself, boiled grains with pepper and garlic seasoning! The soup \u201cKharshil\u201d \u2013 with barley and urtica. Last but not least is \u201cTashmijabi\u201d \u2013 Boiled potatoes filled with Sulguni cheese! Mountains reaching to the sky, interesting and intriguing people, and amazing food! What else you need?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Samtskhe-Javakheti<\/strong> Cuisine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/samtskhe-javakheti\/_samtskhe-javakheti.html?lang=en\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/orientcities.com\/tourism-in-georgia\/destinations\/samtskhe-javakheti\/_samtskhe-javakheti.html?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">This region<\/a><\/strong> is one of the most interesting with its cuisine. For centuries it was heavily influenced by Turkish rule and the diverse nationalities living here. There was a big group of French Catholics who were living in the region and till this day you can see exotic dishes with snails in them. Locals love gooses! You can find goose meat in traditional Meskhian soup &#8211; \u201cGoose Shechamandi\u201d and even in local Khinkali! People here also love different types of salted and dried meat of lamb, goose, duck, etc. They also enjoy white grains boiled in milk \u2013 \u201cKorkoti\u201d.
